Christmas at the Biltmore House

Why travel to the North Pole for Christmas cheer when you could head to North Carolina and America’s largest home—the palatial Biltmore house and grounds.  The Biltmore House is resplendent with over 55 hand-decorated trees including a 35’ Fraser fir in the Banquet Hall, thousands of poinsettias, miles of garlands and lights and too many wreaths and seasonal plants to count. 

Your 3-night reservation for two in the Inn are for December 12 – 15, 2019 and it includes breakfast daily and a tour of the Biltmore House.  Be prepared for a truly magical experience!

Best of the Lowcountry – Marine Expedition and Dinner for 10

Even lifelong locals will discover something new and fascinating on this 2-hour exploration of salt marsh estuaries of the Lowcountry.  Captain Amber Kuehn will take 10 of you on her boat, the Spartina, and introduce you to plants and creatures of the marsh.  While the sights are beautiful, this is a scientific expedition rather than a sight-seeing tour.  Afterwards, head over to the world-famous Hudson’s Seafood House on the docks for a Shell Ring Oyster Roast featuring local specialties.  Available September 2019 – March 2020.  


Colorado Cabin Adventure

Gather your wine aficionado friends for a 6-year vertical tasting.  Pair an appropriate hors d’oeuvre to accompany each year and challenge yourselves to decipher between the fresh nose with bright cranberry and tangerine notes of the 2013 and the 2017 where gushing boysenberry juice seeps through the finish.  Taste them in order or taste them blind and try your hand at identifying each based on the accompanying technical and tasting notes.  Is there a sommelier in the house?
